| 英文描述 | This is an acute infectious disease of birds with economic significance in turkeys, chickens, ducklings, and occasionally other birds. Caused by ERYSIPELOTHRIX RHUSIOPATHIAE. Might cause infertility in male birds. Lesions are septicemia with general congestion; degeneration of fat in the anterior part of the thigh; enlarged liver, spleen, and kidneys. There is also fibrinopurulent exudate in the joints and pericardial sac; thickening of the proventriculus and gizzard surface; fibrin plaques of the heart muscle; and small yellow nodules in the ceca. Dx by isolation and identification of the organism. A vaccine is available. This is a zoonosis. |
